Emergency Library Closure
In this time of local and national emergency, it is necessary to rigorously adhere to practices of self-isolation and social distancing. This is not only for the protection of our patrons and our staff but also to lessen the impact on medical services needed to treat the seriously ill.
In addition, due to severe shortages, we are unable to obtain supplies needed to adequately disinfect the library. Consequently, Blanchard Community Library will be closed from Tuesday, March 17, through Monday, April 20. We will determine whether it is safe to resume operations as we get closer to that date.
During this closure, due dates for borrowed materials will be extended, and no late fines or fees will be assessed. While patrons may return materials using our outside book drop during this time, we recommend they wait to return items until the Library reopens.
The library has a wide variety of ebooks and digital audiobooks that can be accessed remotely through OverDrive, as well as streaming movies, television shows, and more through Hoopla. Digital magazines may be accessed through RB Digital.
Assistance using these applications can be found on the Black Gold website. Alternatively, library staff are available in a limited capacity to assist with setting these applications up on various devices via email at email@example.com or by calling (805) 525-3615.
